Living Waters Australia is developing a nationally known network of groups for the healing of people’s damaged emotions, relationships, and sexuality.

Living Waters is biblically based, of evangelical persuasion and seeks to minister God’s mercy to Christians who struggle in these areas, offering understanding, care, and a safe place for processing and restoration. We resource churches to establish groups which address the key areas of emotions, relationships and sexuality, and direct individuals towards these local groups.

We believe that the power of Jesus’ death on the Cross, His resurrection life, healing, mercy and grace is sufficient to bring healing to or deliverance from the sexual and relational brokenness of our lives. We seek to be a ministry through which Jesus, the Good Shepherd can restore our souls.

Porn addiction is an increasingly growing problem. The porn industry is worth about $500 million a year in Australia.[i] That does not include the $100 millions spent on downloading international porn. This proliferation of pornography on the Internet, increasing loneliness in society and the raw power of sexual passion has caused the rapid growth of porn addiction in Australia.  Porn addiction affects both men and women. Whereas men tend to be more visually stimulated, so look for graphic sexual imagery, women tend to be more relationally oriented. Their porn addiction leads them to look for stories of emotional attachment in pornographic stories, and they tend to gravitate more towards chat sites. These are not mutually exclusive however. In fact, women are increasingly looking at pornographic sites on the web, and men, in their loneliness and porn addiction, are increasingly prowling chat lines, looking for connection.

Luke 1:10-14

And the whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering. And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John. ”You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.

“…the younger son got together all he had and set off to a far-away country
and there squandered his inheritance in wild living.”
Luke 15:13

Sometimes the hardest thing about love is letting the beloved one walk away headstrong into places of destruction and messiness.  It is never easy to see the ones we love unnecessarily hurt.  Yet love always leaves the beloved one free:  free even to walk away from hearth and kin into the far-away country.

In such situations, how does one hold on hope on behalf of another?
